AMEBE — A Satirical Act

AMEBE — Artist Statement

AMEBE is an Italian female artist duo working at the intersection of contemporary art, sculpture, satire, and symbolic narrative. For twenty years, our practice has explored the tension between power structures, feminist perspectives, and the timeless dialogue between the sacred and the profane.

We use poetic and provocative satire as a sculptural language — a tool to dismantle, reinterpret, and rebuild the everyday. Our works include contemporary sculptures, site-specific installations, performances, and collectible objects, each shaped by a message rather than a fixed medium.

Our practice reimagines the domestic, the spiritual, the political, and the iconic through a lens that is both sensual and subversive. By intertwining material experimentation with symbolic storytelling, we create artworks that invite viewers into spaces of reflection, disruption, and re-enchantment.

Recurring themes include:
– feminist critiques of domestic and cultural mythologies
– symbolic reinterpretations of ritual and spirituality
– the dynamics of desire, care, and power

As an artistic partnership, AMEBE embodies a mutable, fluid, and ever-evolving identity — a twenty-year dialogue shaped by shared intuition and duality. Our work resists categorization and refuses fixed mediums, allowing each message to define its own material voice.

Through satire, sculptural form, and conceptual clarity, we aim to create a contemporary visual language that challenges, nourishes, and reconnects — an aesthetic act of resistance and imagination.
